The Texas Apartment Association Political Action Committee (TAA PAC) is a cornerstone of TAA’s advocacy efforts, empowering the rental housing industry to have a strong, unified voice in Texas politics. As one of the largest trade association PACs in the state, TAA PAC plays a critical role in supporting candidates who champion a healthy business climate and the continued growth of Texas communities.
Why TAA PAC Matters
TAA PAC pools voluntary contributions from members across the state to support candidates for the Texas Legislature and statewide offices who understand and support the rental housing industry. These contributions help ensure that the voices of property owners, managers, and suppliers are heard when key decisions are made in Austin and beyond.
In the past two years alone, TAA PAC has contributed over $750,000 to candidates, consistently ranking among the top 10 trade association PACs in Texas.
Who Can Contribute to the TAA PAC?
TAA members and local associations contribute to the TAA PAC. Contributions are voluntary and are used for political purposes. The TAA PAC accepts contributions from individuals, sole proprietorships and LLCs without corporate ownership. The TAA PAC does not accept corporate funds. PAC investments are not tax deductible.
How Contributions Are Used
TAA PAC is nonpartisan and strategic. Volunteer leaders on TAA’s Legislative Committee, in collaboration with local associations and the government affairs team, recommend contributions based on candidates’ alignment with industry priorities. The full TAA Board approves contributions to statewide candidates, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Membership Has Its Benefits
TAA PAC offers exclusive recognition, event invitations and access to its supporters through tiered giving levels:
- Chairman’s Club ($5,000)
- President’s Club ($2,500)
- Vice President’s Club ($1,000)
- Executive’s Club ($500)
Investing in the Future
TAA PAC is more than a political fund—it’s a strategic investment in the future of Texas’s rental housing industry. As TAA President Renee Zahn of Greystar puts it, “It’s vital that we all contribute to TAA PAC, which is one of our best methods of advocating for a positive business climate in Texas.”
