It’s been about a month since the 2026 TAA ONE Conference, and if you’re like me, you’re still thinking about the conversations, ideas and connections that came out of those few days in Fort Worth.
One of the best parts of the ONE Conference is getting out of your own bubble for a bit. Day-to-day, it’s easy to stay focused on your own properties, your own teams and your own challenges. But when you get in a room with people from across Texas – people who operate differently, think differently, and solve problems in ways you may not have considered – it pushes you in a good way. Whether it was swapping stories between sessions or talking through real issues over coffee, those peer-to-peer conversations are where a lot of the value really shows up.
There’s also something to be said for being there in person. You can’t replicate the energy, the side conversations or the unexpected connections that happen when you’re all in the same place for a few days. It’s often those unplanned moments – a quick introduction, a shared table, a conversation that runs longer than expected – that end up being the most useful long after the conference is over.

The education this year hit on exactly what we’re all dealing with right now. Insights on SB 38, the new eviction law, gave much-needed clarity on what’s changing and how to stay compliant. We also dug into the growing issue of application fraud – how to spot it, how to prevent it and how to protect our communities. These are real, immediate challenges, and it was great to see content that we could take home and actually use right away.
The ONE Expo floor was just as important. Spending time with our supplier partners, seeing new tools, asking questions and having real conversations reminds you that we’re all working toward the same goal. Those relationships make a difference, and there’s no substitute for connecting face-to-face.

And let’s be honest, ONE Conference always knows how to have a little fun too. The concert out at Tannehill’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards was a highlight, with Shinyribs and Gus Clark putting on a great show. It’s those moments, outside the sessions and meetings, where relationships really take shape and our industry starts to feel a little smaller in the best way.
At the end of the day, the ONE Conference isn’t just about education or networking. It’s about staying connected to the broader industry and continuing to learn from each other. That’s what keeps us sharp, adaptable and moving forward.

If you joined us this year, thank you for being part of it. And if you’re already thinking ahead, I’d encourage you to make plans to be with us next year in San Antonio. It’s always worth the time to step away from the day-to-day, invest in those relationships and come back with new ideas and perspectives you wouldn’t have found anywhere else. I’m already looking forward to seeing you there!
