Announcing the 2026 “Be the Next: Room to Grow Ambassador” Local Association Edition

The Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation (TAAEF) is excited to announce the launch of the 2026 “Be the Next: Room to Grow Ambassador” [BR1] Local Association Edition! This signature initiative continues to spotlight early-career professionals in the multifamily housing industry and raise awareness about the rewarding career paths available through the Room to Grow campaign.

What’s New for 2026?

This year, TAAEF is inviting all 24 TAA local associations to nominate up to three early-career professionals (with eight years or less in the industry) for the Ambassador program. This new approach strengthens the connection between local talent and TAAEF, giving each association a direct role in highlighting the future leaders of our industry. Instead of a single statewide winner, each local association will have its own Ambassador, nominated by those who know them best.

Why Participate?

“Be the Next Ambassador” is a unique opportunity for early-career professionals to share their stories, inspire others, and gain statewide visibility. Past Ambassadors have gone on to become industry leaders and advocates, representing a diverse range of roles and backgrounds from across Texas.

How to Nominate

  • Each local association may nominate up to three professionals with eight years or less in the industry. The Association will submit a nomination form for each applicant.
  • If you or someone you know is interested in the program, please reach out to your local association for more information. Please note that the deadline is 1/30/26 and many associations have already completed their nominations.

Judging & Ambassador Roles

A panel of industry leaders will evaluate submissions based on authenticity, storytelling, industry engagement, and peer influence potential. Each local association will have one Ambassador selected.

Ambassadors will:

  • Represent their association on social media (including creating a “Day in the Life” video or reel)
  • Write short blog posts or participate in spotlight interviews
  • Optionally contribute to the “Room to Grow Voices” series
  • Serve as local champions at events, career fairs, and student outreach
  • Commit approximately 2–3 hours per month, with flexible scheduling

Important Deadline: January 30, 2026
