TAAEF’s Be the Next Room to Grow Ambassador
Where are they now?
Spotted at incoming TAA President, Demetrio Jimenez’s installation in El Paso, were Danny Perea, Tropicana Properties Chief Operating Officer and Juan Salvador, Regional Maintenance Supervisor. Both Danny and Juan were previous finalists in TAAEF’s Be the Next Room to Grow Ambassador video challenge.
Danny was part of the first edition of the Be the Next Ambassador video challenge. Danny has an amazing story. He started as a runner for Tropicana and worked his way up through the company to become the Chief Operating Officer. When asked about the video challenge, Danny said, “It was an honor to be a finalist for the Be the Next Room to Grow Ambassador video challenge. Even though my title of, Chief Operating Officer of Tropicana Properties, hasn’t changed, I have grown substantially within the industry. I am the President-Elect of my local association, chairman of my local Next Gen committee, chairman of TAA’s Affordable Housing committee and a TAA Leadership Lyceum graduate. I always have the mindset that I am a student of the industry, and I always strive to learn as much as possible and spread that knowledge to those around me.”
Juan was a Maintenance Tech when we first met him, and in the past two years he’s become a Regional Maintenance Supervisor! Juan has an enthusiasm for learning and for the profession, and we are excited to see him continue to grow in his career! Here’s what Juan had to say about the industry, “It has been extremely rewarding to go from a maintenance technician to a regional maintenance supervisor. The opportunities presented to me at Tropicana Properties are an example of the opportunities available in our industry. I hope to continue teaching future maintenance technicians and sharing the knowledge I’ve gained in the field. As regional maintenance supervisor, I aim to model excellence and tell my story to share the opportunities that are open if they work hard.”
The Be the Next Ambassador video challenge is coming back in January 2023. We’ll be looking for another industry newcomer, with 5 years of experience or less in the industry. Be on the lookout for the submission details coming soon!
