Three communities offering affordable housing options to residents were honored for their innovative and creative programs in the Texas Apartment Association’s second annual Affordable Housing Awards program.

- Awards were presented during the association’s Winter Board of Directors meeting February 21 in Houston.
- More than seven properties were nominated during the awards program this year.
Three apartment communities providing affordable housing and additional services to residents were honored for their innovative efforts during the Texas Apartment Association’s Winter Board of Directors meeting in Houston February 21.
Awards were given for outstanding communities in two categories: Renovation and Rehab, and New Construction. This was the first year for these categories.
TAA Affordable Housing Committee chairman Demetrio Jimenez of El Paso presented the awards during the TAA Board of Directors meeting.
In the Renovation and Rehab category, the award was presented to Paddock at Norwood, in Austin. The community is managed by Capstone Real Estate Services.
In the New Construction category, two awards were given. New Hope Housing of Harrisburg, managed by the New Hope Housing non-profit, was honored, along with The Pointe at Crestmont in Houston, managed by Capstone Real Estate Services.
TAA received seven nominations for the Affordable Housing Awards program this year. These awards were first presented in 2019. All of the properties considered for awards this year were excellent. Companies submitted useful videos and testimonials from residents conveying strong messages of progress and appreciation.
