Synopsis

The Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation offers free or low-cost training opportunities to those new to the rental housing industry. Learn more about upcoming options to share with your friends and colleagues.

Key takeaways

  • The Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation works with local associations and other partners to offer free or low-cost training opportunities to those new to the rental housing industry.
  • Three such training programs are coming up, in Houston, Austin and in El Paso. The El Paso program is for military spouses, veterans, and soldiers separating from service at Fort Bliss.
  • The Foundation is also maintaining a list on its website of other low-cost training options offered through supplier partners or other sources. To submit additional programs, email Becca Ramati.

The Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation supports formalized training for Texans interested in careers in multifamily. We work with our local associations and workforce training partners to provide training opportunities to those new to the industry.

Currently we have three maintenance training programs available in Houston, Austin and in El Paso. The program in El Paso is specifically for soldiers separating from service at Fort Bliss, veterans and military spouses. For more information on this class reach out to the El Paso Apartment Association.

These programs are for those new to the industry looking for hands-on training. Participants completing these types of programs graduate from the course with a provisional, with one year of experience, Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT). CAMT is an industry-recognized certification that is widely accepted and valued.

TAAEF also works with our local associations and supplier partners and others to share additional free or low-cost training opportunities, in person or virtual. Check out the listing of training opportunities available at www.taaef.org/training. This is not an exhaustive list but we are working to share as many opportunities as possible.

If you know of additional training opportunities to list, please send them to Becca Ramati at Becca@taa.org.
