Like you, we have been closely monitoring developments related to the novel coronavirus/COVID-19. This is an unprecedented and challenging situation, but we are confident we all will get through it and be stronger and more resilient as a result.
Because the health and safety of our Texas Apartment Association family is our first priority, we have made the decision to move the TAA Education Conference & Lone Star Expo to September 2-4 in Fort Worth. We realize this may create some challenges, but are committed to working with you to minimize any inconvenience.
We want to let you know how we are planning to move forward, since you may have registered or been planning to attend the Conference:
If you have already registered for the conference, your registration will be automatically transferred to the new dates. We have extended the cancellation deadline until July 31, 2020. All registrations are refundable (minus a $50 cancellation fee) until July 31, 2020. You may register in advance for the Conference through August 25, 2020.
We are working with our hotel partners to transfer your existing hotel reservations, with comparable arrival and departure dates. If you need to alter your plans:
- You made your hotel reservation when you registered yourself: Please contact MCI, email@example.com or call 888/294-0300.
- You registered a group to attend the conference and need to make changes to your hotel block: Please contact Lynn Fisher at 512/479-6252 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As you consider steps you may need to take in your own business for your residents, employees or for your families to mitigate the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19, we want you to be aware of the Cororavirus/COVID-19 resource page on the TAA website. Prepare, but don’t panic
Gov. Greg Abbott’s office has asked us to remind you that there are no shortages of consumer items, such as bottled water or toilet paper. Supply chains for consumer goods are operating normally and supplies for major retailers are being restocked regularly. Preparation is smart, but panic is not necessary.
We all know this is an unprecedented situation, both for TAA and for our country. As an association, bringing our members together and uniting them for a common purpose is the core of our being, and our mission. We fully intend to stay true to that mission, and to keep bringing our members together. But we also want our TAA family, and their families, to be safe.
