New “Advocate of the Year” award created in memory of Past President Brad Williams, CPM

The Texas Apartment Association Board of Directors approved a new award to honor a volunteer for his or her work supporting the association’s advocacy and Political Action Committee programs. The new award was approved during the April 15 board meeting held in conjunction with the TAA ONE Conference & Expo in San Antonio.

The award will be named in memory of TAA past president and National Apartment Association chairman Brad Williams, CPM. It will be presented for the first time in 2022.

Williams was a tireless advocate for the industry, and for NAA, TAA and his local association, the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas. In addition to participating in legislative efforts at every level, he also supported PAC fund-raising at every level, and influenced many other volunteers and leaders to join him as a passionate advocate and voice for the rental housing industry. He passed away unexpectedly in March, 2021.
